The Drazin family has been at the forefront of real estate in Canada for over a century. Having commenced in the construction and ownership of residential properties at the beginning of the 20th century in Ottawa, they relocated to Montreal in the 1920s. By the 1940's, their extensive portfolio had expanded to include commercial real estate, as well. Today, the Drazin family owns several million square feet of commercial space throughout the greater Montreal area, as well as residential, commercial and industrial properties in Eastern & Western Canada and in Eastern United States, managed by the family under the name "Rester".
After realizing great success in Montreal, CREST Realties expanded its portfolio to New York City. Sensing that values in New York City were on the rise following the 2008-2010 recession, CREST Realties, managed by Aaron Drazin, launched its quest to acquire properties in undervalued neighborhoods in the City, mainly in Northern Manhattan and Brooklyn where the gentrification process had begun. Accordingly, CREST Realties focused its investments in the multifamily market in these areas.
Since its first New York City acquisition in 2012, it assembled a portfolio of ten properties with close to 400,000 square feet. CREST Realties is now a well-recognized player in the New York City multifamily market, and continues its pursuit of properties that fit its acquisition criteria.
