The Drazin family has been at the forefront of real estate in Canada for over a century. After starting out in the construction industry and owning residential properties in Ottawa during the early 20th century, they relocated to Montreal in the 1920’s.
By the 1940’s, their extensive portfolio had expanded to include commercial real estate as well. Today, the Drazin family owns several million square feet of commercial space throughout the greater Montreal area. They own and manage residential, commercial, and industrial properties in Canada and in Eastern United States under the name “Rester”.
CREST Realties was founded by Aaron Drazin in 1995 and was initially involved in the ownership and redevelopment of older industrial properties in the Montreal area. CREST’s entry into the industrial market was with the purchase of the Lasalle Industrial Complex comprising of 10 buildings totaling 800,000 s.f. on 2.3M s.f. of land.
Over the next seven years, $12M was invested to completely rehabilitate the property transforming the complex into one of the premier quality industrial facilities in Montreal. Since then, many other industrial properties have been redeveloped in the greater Montreal area.
Most recently, CREST built a 140,000 s.f. 32’ height expansion to their large industrial building in Terrebonne creating an institutional grade property of 365,000 s.f.
CREST Realties maintains strong ties with the rest of the Drazin family and continues to work with them for real estate deals and projects.
